Many congratulations to Luke Rickard (S4D), who won the Irish Young Philosopher Award on Friday afternoon. Luke won the Individual-5th-6th year individual project award, the overall individual project award, the Technology and Ethics award, and the overall competition for his project entitled “Is it ethical for robots to be caregivers?” - He was delighted that he got to meet President Higgins. The annual ISTA Junior Science Quiz was held on Wednesday 9th May in Belevedere College SJ. Gonzaga entered two 3rd year teams. Our first team of Mark Mulvey, Mark Fahy and David Blake came in 3rd place after a tie-breaker question with Rosemont college with a finishing score of 41/48. Well done to our second team of Henri Li, Patrick Hickey and Alex Mc Hugh who finished with a score of 36/48. This year's competition saw a record breaking high of 49 teams entered from over 35
