Two Gonzaga teams were among the eight entries in the 2019 Leinster School Team Racing championship held in the Royal St George Yacht club on Saturday 23 March. In the qualifying rounds, each team raced all the other schools in a round robin series. Racing in light winds that were extremely testing for all competitors, Gonzaga B team performed well and narrowly missed qualification for the final rounds. On Friday 22nd March 2019 Gonzaga will take part in Daffodil Day in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. Students are invited to wear yellow and donate €2. Daffodil pins will also be on sale for €3. The Green Schools Committee is currently working on Gonzaga's sixth green flag: Global Citizenship - Litter and Waste. So far we have conducted a global awareness survey, a nationalities survey and a waste audit. We carried out litter pick ups on the school grounds and sold water bottles and travel mugs to encourage students to avoid single use plastics. We have also continued working on previous themes. Gonzaga are through to our first ever Senior Cup final after a 22 - 19 win against Clongowes Wood College SJ yesterday. Huge congratulations to everyone involved in this historic win, and thanks to the Clongowes team for a challenging game. Read a match report here.
