Christmas Fair 2019

Our Christmas Fair will take place tomorrow (Sunday 1 December). Proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. All welcome.

Christmas Fair: distribution of trees to plant at home

Science Foundation Ireland in partnership with Coillte and Easytreesie have donated 500 native trees to Gonzaga College. Easytreesie is a member of the children and youth initiative Plant-for-the-Planet , where 70 countries worldwide have each pledged that one million trees be planted by one million children. Ireland is currently at 65,000 and aim to reach one million my 2023. See here for further details. Plant for the Planet are mobilising for the planting of a trillion trees worldwide and have developed the Plant-for-the-Planet App to help in achieving this. We invite visitors to our Christmas fair on Sunday 1st December to take one or more trees to plant at home. They will be distributed

TY Sleep Out 2019

The annual Transition Year Sleep Out for the Peter McVerry Trust will take place on Friday 22 November. Donations can be made online here.

Clothing Pop-up Shop

Donations of men's clothes in good condition are needed for a sustainable clothing pop-up shop which will be held on Friday 29 November in the school. Please leave any donations in Mr Benson's room. Proceeds to Habitat for Humanity.

Winter Exams 2019

Winter exams will take place during the week of 18 - 22 November. See here for the timetable. The Library will be open as usual during the exams: Mon, Tues and Thurs: 8am - 6pm; Wed, Fri: 8am - 4pm.

Swimming News

On Sunday 13th October 2019, two Gonzaga swimming teams competed in the Leinster Schools’ Swimming Championships in the National Aquatic Centre. Both teams (Senior & Junior) were competing against some very accomplished schools, most of which would have swimmers competing and training regularly at club level. The Gonzaga teams performed very well in both age groups, in both the 4 x 50m Medley Relay (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly & Freestyle), and the 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay. Our Senior Team produced a very good result in both relays, finishing in 4th place in the medley relay and 6th place in the freestyle relay.
