On October 22, 2024, Senior 1B had an inspiring day at Telling Tales: The Loreto Literary Festival, accompanied by their teacher, Ms. F. McCarthy and the school librarian, Ms. N. Rharade. The event, supported by UNESCO Dublin City of Literature, aimed to bring storytelling to life in fresh, dynamic ways, celebrating creativity through diverse forms—from visual storytelling and podcasts to poetry and live performance. Students enthusiastically participated in workshops led by renowned facilitators like Dave Rudden, Niall de Burca, and Patricia Forde. Although some room adjustments were needed to accommodate everyone, nearly every student enjoyed one of their top-choice workshops and had the chance to connect with peers from other schools. Workshop leaders praised the students’ energy and creativity, making the day a resounding success. Both teachers and students look forward to watching Telling Tales grow in the years ahead, with plans to include Senior Cycle students in the future.
