On Wednesday the 18 September, members of the Irish Defence Forces came to the school to give a career’s talk to 4th, 5th, and 6th Year students.
Commandant Michael Barry (Class of 2002) spoke to students about many aspects of life in the Defence Forces, and the wide range of careers that you can have. He also spoke about his own personal experiences as a member of the Defence Forces, such as his tough training in the cadetship and being commissioned on UN peacekeeping missions.
Following Michael’s talk, there was a display of two armored personnel carriers. Students had an opportunity to chat to the members of the force about their career and to look inside the vehicles.
Thanks to Mr Lynch for taking organising this event. Photos by Johnny Cunnane.
