Those who remember with affection Fr Stephen Redmond SJ, who taught in Gonzaga from 1956 to 1971, may or may not know that he recorded an interview a few years before his death in 2017. In it he speaks about his childhood, his life as a Jesuit and a teacher, and his love of music.

The Archive has been alert to voices of the Past when they occur in the media and, where possible, recorded links where they can be found.

These include two extracts from John Bowman’s From the Archives (RTE Radio 1 Sunday):

Links to Peter Sutherland’s (’64) recorded interviews/lectures (on Migration and Refugees in particular) are also recorded in the Archive.

Before his untimely death in 2015, Danny McNelis, Principal of the Prep School and later coordinator of Pastoral Care, recorded two very affecting testaments to his Faith.

An initiative of Cyril Forbes (’63) prompted the recording of invaluable early memories of the College by a number of alumni:  Brian Davy (’60), Jerry Liston (‘58), Charles Lysaght (‘58), Roger Conan (’72) and Tom Finlay (’69).

THE PHOTO ABOVE IS IN NEED OF FURTHER CAPTIONING! ANY HELP WILL BE VERY WELCOME.
