East Leinster cross-country trials take place in school in January with qualifiers competing in the East Leinster Schools competition later in the month in Avondale House, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. Successful runners may then advance to the Leinster Schools competition.

East Leinster track & field athletics takes place during the summer term. Successful qualifiers can compete in the competition held at the track in Irishtown. There is generally a high standard required for boys to qualify for all track and field events.

Sports Day takes place on a Saturday in May on the school grounds. It is open to all students who wish to take part. Field events for 1st – 5th years involve a qualification process, 6th years can compete in events on the day. All track events are open to any student on the day. The relays and tug-of-war are the final events of the day, attracting a large crowd.
